A fun-filled fundraising event is coming to Kettering this September to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now and the MS Society.
The fundraiser “Brains, Boobs & a Blooming Good Market” will take place on September 6 at The Royal Oak, Naseby.
The afternoon will include 30 local craft and gift stalls, face painting, and food stands.
There will also be live music and a bouncy castle for the little ones.
Every purchase will contribute to a 50/50 split between Breast Cancer Now and the MS Society. Event organiser Nathalie Wood says the event is to:
“raise awareness and get people talking. The funds will especially be for support sessions as the time between is very important as well"
The inspiration for this event originated from her stepmother, Karen, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023; sadly followed by an MS diagnosis in future years.
MS, otherwise known as Multiple sclerosis, is an incurable condition affecting the brain and the spinal cord as it is a disease within the nervous system.
Breast cancer is a disease where abnormal cells grow out of control, creating tumours.
These diagnoses’ led Miss Wood to create a joint event for both MS and breast cancer:
“I want to give back to both causes and create a within the community about both illnesses”
