The major event, scheduled for Sunday 25th October, was set to feature more than 50 organisations celebrating the county's heritage, culture, and businesses. The Northants 1 team was also due to be in attendance to celebrate with the community, but the unpredictable autumn weather has forced a change of plans.

Following a review of the latest weather forecasts, the councils concluded that the predicted wind conditions would pose an unacceptable risk to visitors, exhibitors, and staff, particularly given the large number of outdoor stands and displays planned for the town centre. The late October timing of the event historically coincides with the feast of St Crispin and Crispinian, the patron saints of Northamptonshire.

Lighthouse Live Still Going Ahead

While the daytime outdoor activities have been shelved, organisers have confirmed that the 'Lighthouse Live' evening showcase will still go ahead as planned.

Taking place from 7pm at the Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering Leisure Village, the evening will feature live performances from local acts, celebrating Northamptonshire talent with a mix of musical theatre, pop, and rock favourites.

The councils have stated they are currently considering options for a future Northamptonshire Day celebration, with the possibility of a rescheduled event taking place next year.
