On August 21 students across Corby and Kettering collected their GCSE results.
Many schools across Kettering are celebrating a significant improvement in results.
The results come as students across Northamptonshire celebrate completing secondary school education, with many pupils preparing for their next steps into college and sixth form.
One school in particular, Kettering Buccleuch Academy, obtained grades ranked two percentage points higher than the national average.
Principal Chloe Buckenham
"We are thrilled with this year’s GCSE results which are a marked improvement on last year.”
Over half of the academy passed English and maths, with 55% of Kettering Buccleuch Academy students achieving grades 5 and above.
One student, Heidi, achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s and one Distinction*.
She is glad that the hard work she put in is on paper.
“I feel really proud of myself and am going to go and eat lots of my favourite food to celebrate!”
North Northamptonshire’s councillor Elizabeth Wright:
“I wish all our young people the very best as they take their next steps and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future.”
We wish the Class of 2026 good luck to what the future brings them!
