The Lighthouse Theatre celebrated Northamptonshire Day with a performance showcasing local talent.
On Sunday 25 October, Lighthouse Live hit the stage, starring performers based in Northamptonshire and stars from the Lighthouse Theatre. Amongst the cast of the show were students from the KD Academy, award-winning Tenor Joshua Daniel and Ashleigh Hallam who was joined on stage by her sisters Kimberley and Hayley (who joined via video link.)
The stage hosted a wide range of performances, from musical theatre to dancing and opera.
Cast members from SIX:TEEN EDITION, who gave the audience a sneak peek of their upcoming prodcuction at Southfield School for Girls this week, described the opportunity to perform for Northamptonshire Day as fun and a great opportunity.
Ellie, who plays Anne Boleyn in SIX:TEEN, said:
"Performing here is really nice; it feels like such a community. It's just really nice to have a celebration with all things theatre".
Before the show, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the excitement was evident among the crowd.
Matt Taylor Heritage Manager at North Northamptonshire Council was among the audience and said:
"I can't wait to be back at The Lighthouse; this is Lighthouse Live, and it's going to be a fantastic way to end a really good weekend in North Northamptonshire".
Despite Storm Austen scrapping Northamptonshire Days morning celebrations, a showcase of great talent in a great venue brought the community spirit alive.
