Part of Willow Place has been closed off as firefighters were called to Corby town centre this afternoon following a fire at a block of flats.
They were called to the three storey building at 3:30pm, and expect to be there for a while so are advising nearby residents to close their windows and stay away.
One person has been treated for smoke inhalation.
A Northamptonshire Fire & Service Rescue Service said:
The fire service was called out at 3:30pm and on arrival found a fire on the second floor of a three storey building including both retail premises and residential properties.
The fire has been extinguished, but we currently have three appliances still on scene which are using fans to clear smoke out of the affected property.
We will remain in the town centre for w while longer.
A section of Willow Place is closed off while we deal with this incident.
