Volunteer

Northants 1 is looking for volunteer Local Content Producers to help us strengthen the local content we provide across our radio station, website and social media. You’ll help identify interesting stories from across North Northamptonshire, from community events and local organisations to interesting people, campaigns and things happening where you live. Depending on your interests, you could get involved in finding stories, contacting local organisations, writing website articles, creating social media content, recording interviews or helping turn local stories into material for our presenters to use on air. Our Local Content Team also record our on air "Northants Recap" and other local features. You don’t need previous radio or journalism experience. We’re much more interested in people who are curious about their local area, enjoy talking to people and want to develop their media skills. You’ll be supported by the Northants 1 team and given opportunities to learn about content creation, radio, journalism and digital media while contributing to a real local station. This could particularly suit someone interested in gaining experience for a future career in broadcasting, journalism, communications, or content creation, or simply someone who enjoys being involved in their local community.
