Find your start in media with Northants 1. Whether you’ve got some experience, or you’ve only just thought about getting involved with your local community station; our door is open to you! We are a community non-profit organisation and exist because of our wonderful volunteers, they do everything. From presenting or producing shows, to gathering local content, social media content creation, even cleaning the loo. Here’s just a few of the roles our volunteers complete.
Presenting Team
Some of our volunteers present their own radio shows. They’re involved in the whole process, from helping to pick out the music, to planning their content, operating the sound desk, booking and interviewing guests, to presenting their show.
They get other opportunities to present on stage at events, and in video content for online and social.
We work with volunteers to build their presentation, technical and pre-production skillsets to enable them to find their start with radio presenting.
Local Content Team
Our local content volunteer’s gather local news, whats on, interviews along with supporting local not for profits and community organisations with website content, social media and key on air features.
They make our station truly local for North Northamptonshire.
We work with volunteers to build their writing, web, social and recording skillsets to enable them to find their start with journalism and or content creation.
